Broken receptacle replacement


Replacing a broken curb anchoring base is a process similar to a new installation. You simply need to drill a 52 mm hole around the broken part to a depth of 12,5 cm. When the drilling is done, remove the broken part from the curb by breaking the core piece containing the broken part using the trowels. Then, mix a small quantity of fast setting grout and perform the same steps mentioned in the curb installation video, making sure your anchoring base is levelled and flush with the top of the curb.

Connector removal
You can easily get a connector back from a broken stem.  Using a table or band saw, cut the lower part of the stem at the end of the connector's thread. After the operation is completed, you will easily remove the connector from the stem and reuse it on a reconditioned stem or on a new one.

Grooving back a broken stem
Stems broken at their base can easily be repaired.  Using a table saw, cut the damage section of the stem. Following this step, adjust the cutting guide at a height of 3 inches and one eight from the center of the blade. Then, lower the blade to a height of 1.35 millimetre from the top of the table. With the help of a miter gauge, bring the stem over the blade and rotate it to complete a 360 degrees groove.  Once the groove is completed, you can slide on a connector in place. Your stem will be shorter but reusable.

Spring season stem removal
With the help of an air compressor and long nose dust blower clean the accumulated winter dirt surrounding the stem and connector. Then, using the screwing tool, unscrew the stem from it's anchoring base.  Using the dust blower, remove any water left by blowing some air inside the anchoring part.  Following this step, air clean the threads from any possible dust or dirt.  After completing the air cleaning, screw on the summer plug into place for summer season.

Fall season stem installation
Setting stems in place for the winter season is easy.   Air clean the dirt surrounding the anchoring base and inside the hexagonal plug's hole. Afterward, unscrew the plug from the curb or ground anchoring base using a 10 mm Allen key.  If you have  a great number of stems to install, we recommend the use of a cordless drill for faster results.  When the plug is removed, simply screw the stem back into place with the screwing tool.
